What to Expect:
- From 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, artists will be spread across Madison County (locations will be released after dark on Saturday, September 20th), creating live artworks in various outdoor locations. The public is welcome to watch the process, interact with painters, and get inspired by the region’s landscapes and hidden gems. (Note: artists will choose their locations; no guarantee they’ll be at every site for the full morning.)
- 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Shop and explore Winterset! Many local merchants will open their doors for festival-goers to enjoy an afternoon of unique shopping and experiences before the evening reception, including:
- Winterset Art Center (12–4 pm)
- Pieceworks Quilt Shop (12–4 pm)
- Iowa Quilt Museum (12–4 pm)
- John Wayne Birthplace Gift Shop (10 am–5 pm)
- SKR Vintage (formerly Kountry Farmhouse/Salvage This) (12–4 pm)
- Angel Wings & CT (1–3 pm)
- White Cottage Market (1–3 pm)

- An evening reception will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Covered Bridges Winery (2207 170th Trail, Winterset, IA). This is when the day’s works are displayed, judged, and made available for purchase.
